What is CAD/CAM

CAD/CAM is a technology that integrates Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to digitally design and produce physical parts.

CAD software is used to create 2D or 3D digital models of a product, while CAM software uses those models to generate instructions for machinery like CNC machines to manufacture the part.

Getting Started - CAD

To get started with CAD, begin by selecting the software, such as ‘Onshape’, which is web based, and offer a FREE entry level account. The bonus is  you don’t have to download and install any software to start learning, just use your favorite browser.

Practice with simple exercises, like drawing basic shapes, and then gradually move to more complex projects, like creating 2D layouts or 3D models. Consistency and structured learning resources are key to developing your skills
